Did someone say tax refund?

So guess what, I got my tax refund today from my internship over the summer and so money AINT SO TIGHT ANYMORE

Which begs the questions, what should I do with this blog?

1. Continue living at 130 pounds/month which would render me unsociable, and risk me looking like a hobo due to malnutrition and all work, no play

2. Upping the budget to 200pounds/month instead

3. Live life like money grew on trees

Leave your verdict under the comments, or vote via my facebook page (it should be under this post on my profile pic).

Warwick, we have a problem.

So this is not good...at all.

Barely into the 2nd half of the month and my total expenditure has grown exponentially off the roof. Here is the breakdown:

Laptop charger from Ebay (the one i had fused) : £7.46
Dental checkup (after my teeth started to ache like mofo) £49.50
Transport to London (to help SEO in their ACs) £7.95
Dinner at London with Deborah, at Busaba Eathai £18.80
Groceries shopping today £38.69
Dinner with Choon Yauw who came to Warwick £6.00

Which brings us to a total of £128.31

Before this I had this much left to spend: 89.35+57.60 (from Oyster refund) = £146.95

Which means, £146.95-£128.31= £18.64 pounds left to spend this month.

Fark.

Of refunds, free food and soup.

Going into Day no.5 of 130Warwick has been decent so far.

Good news in financial aspects have been :

1. REFUND FROM OYSTER TFL AFTER FOUR MONTHS.

Constant emailing and calling them up proved fruitful when i finally received my refund cheque when my Oyster photocard was stolen 4 months ago.

£57.60. Check.

2. Free foood!

After too much food was cooked at Sue Mei's, and them knowing about my blogquest, they decided to let me keep some of the leftover food. WOOOOOOP.

Three tupperwares of rice, curry and anchovies. Check.

Another thing I learnt that saves shit loads of money and still satisfies your tummy on such cold winter days is SOUP.

Drop in some potatoes, chinese leaf, tomatoes, parsnips, chicken bones (kept after frying the meat for an earlier meal), ginger, a pinch of saffron and BOOM. 2 meals settled and done.

Ka-Ching!

January begins....with spending.

33.91 + 6.74 = £40.65

Groceries totalled up to £40.65 today at Tescos. Among cheap bargains found (which I did not notice previously):

1. Reduced price section - Tomatoes, potatoes, HALF PRICE.
2. MINCE BEEF - never bought any before this but for 500g for only £1.41, who can resist?

Aim : This round of grocery shopping should ideally last me till January 15th. Two weeks. Lets see how this turns out. Fingers crossed.

Total left to spend (January): £89.35
